Open Letter to the Denver Medical Community @ Colorado Integrative Cancer Care

Colorado Integrative Cancer Care is accepting patients as of January 4, 2010.

Dear Colleague,

You and your oncology patients now have access to Denver Metro’s only multidisciplinary, integrative oncology practice staffed by a Board-certified Oncologist with a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine. I am pleased to announce the opening of Colorado Integrative Cancer Care (CICC). Created in response to the increasing patient demand for integrative oncology, CICC offers treatment that combines mainstream cancer care with the best evidence-based, complementary therapies.

We all know the stresses placed on patients as they go through treatment. Some of those stresses can be diminished by emphasizing mental, emotional and spiritual needs. While developing individualized treatment plans for patients, we also include appropriate integrative modalities including massage, nutritional counseling, mind-body techniques (mindfulness, stress reduction, mediation, etc.), acupuncture, supplement counseling and more.
Our team follows strict clinical practice guidelines from the Society of Integrative Oncology. We do not support alternative therapies, which are scientifically unproven and are offered as substitutes for mainstream care. In oncology, such approaches can lead to delayed treatment and diminish the possibility of remission and cure.

I look forward to working with you as I have for the last ten years. My goal continues as a provider of the best possible cancer care. A big part of that commitment is continuing the strong relationships we have built with you and the rest of the medical community.
